UNIVERSITY HISTORY:
Caucasus International University (CIU) is a Higher Educational Institution based on national values and focused on constant changes.

University history dates back to 1995. Despite a harsh social and political condition 22 years ago, an idea - creating a western-style university in Georgia, became reality and a Higher Educational Institution was established, which became one of the leading universities within the next ten years.

Five leading and modern Faculties - of Business, Law, Social Sciences, Medicine and Viticulture-Winemaking were created on the basis of University with the common effort of founders and a team of well-known and experienced scientists. The Faculties offer highly-qualified academic staff and Scientific-Research Centers in compliance with international standards.

A nine-storey educational-scientific building, relevant to modern university standards and a unique base for Viticulture-Winemaking were built in 2015-2016.

Nowadays, the University owns three educational buildings (more than 15000 sq. meters). One more building is under construction.

Existing modern technology at University gives an opportunity to hold video-conferences, implement distance teaching, have a direct connection with Educational and Research Centres from various parts of the world. The above-mentioned points serve as a basis of CIU Educational Programme Recognition and its full involvement in European Educational Space.

A number of scientific innovations have been implemented since the establishment of the University; existing structures and departments have been developed. Teaching process and management are constantly improved and refined.

CIU places proper emphasis on raising standard of education, thus recommendations of academic staff and students are always taken into consideration. Students are actively involved in appreciating Educational Programmes and Courses, academic staff and teaching process in general.

The University has a close connection with international organizations, state institutions and private companies operating in Georgia. Within the framework of the program “Invited Guest” students are able to meet representatives of political, business and nongovernmental sector, which considerably promotes their employment. Students are granted complete freedom in terms of choosing studying and research fields.

The University publishes a reviewed, refereed, trilingual international-scientific journal “Caucasus International University Herald”. Scholarly works and articles about the latest scientific achievements by Georgian and foreign researchers are published in the journal. With the help and financial assistance of University, academic staff publish compulsory and supplementary textbooks within the framework of the academic course on a regular basis.

CIU main priority is employment of graduates. Correspondingly, career planning and determining students' professional directions serve as challenges for University. For this reason, Career Development Centre - a powerful structural point- was created and it promotes professional development of students and staff.

Career Development Centre sets strategies for students and graduates, taking into consideration the results of regular survey of labour requirements.

Currently, there are 4000 students with an active student status at University, approximately 600 students are foreign citizens.

 FACULTY OF MEDICINE

CIU Faculty of Medicine has been operating since 1995 and has produced and employed a number of successful medics.

It is a member of Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research - FAIMER-IMED" and World Health Organization - “AVICENNA".

In addition, CIU is in the list of foreign Medical Institutions acknowledged by Medical Council of India.

The Faculty offers nine accredited Educational Programmes:

         Medicine (Languages of instruction-Georgian and English)

         Dentistry (Languages of instruction-Georgian, English and Russian)

         Pharmacy (Languages of instruction-Georgian and English)

         Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (Languages of instruction - Georgian and English)

Each Educational Programme includes teaching basic and clinical disciplines. For this reason, teaching laboratories of basic disciplines are operating at university such as: Anatomy.

Room equipped with the latest anatomical models and phantoms, Biochemical Teaching Laboratory, Research Laboratory of Neuroscience and Applied Physiology - where students are able to conduct experiments on animals. In addition, students have an opportunity to participate in various kinds of experiments, carried out in Ivane Beritashvili “Life Science Center”.

Educational Laboratory for Propaedeutics of Internal Illnesses has been founded at university, equipped with new simulators and phantoms. The laboratory facilitates the study of physical methods required for patients' examination in accordance with modern standards. In addition, students will gain practical experience and improve the techniques for patients' examination.

Modern infrastructure and technology contribute to creating perfect environment both for professors and students. Practical classes in clinical disciplines are conducted in leading Georgian clinics and Medical Institutions, thus enabling successful students to be employed in the future.

Within the framework of Dentistry Programme, Rooms for Phantom Studies and University Dental Clinic are operating at university, which enable students to have direct contact with patients from an early stage of studying. Teaching at the faculty is carried out in accordance with international standards. The University provides all the conditions for gaining qualitative knowledge and leading an interesting student life. Academic courses are conducted by highly-qualified academic staff and visiting professors.

Annual International Scientific Conference for Students are conducted at University, which is very popular with Higher Educational Institutions. CIU medical students actively participate in the conference.

Our university attracts more and more foreign university entrants and students. Currently, approximately 600 CIU medical students are the citizens of various countries, such as: France, Poland, Portugal, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Syria, Morocco, Nigeria, Egypt, India, Israel and Great Britain. The number of students significantly increases per term.

Residency Programme in Theoretical Dentistry has been successfully operating on the basis of the university since 2014. Separate Dental Clinic is also available within the framework of the Programme, serving only the students of the Residency Programme. The Programme gives students opportunity to gain practical education and become qualified practicing doctors- dentists.

Multi-Profile University Clinic is planned to be constructed. Furthermore, Clinical Skills Center and Anatomical Theatre are prepared to be established in the upcoming future. Development of International University Relations and organizing Exchange Programmes with foreign clinics will also be promoted.

  Student life considerably contributes to the formation of professional and personal values of an individual. Therefore, CIU strives for creating a proper environment for students. Career Development Centre :
Beneficiaries and offers professional testing, consultation, practice of techniques to students and graduates. In addition, the Centre focuses on advisory and educational service for career planning and adaptation to workplace. It carries out various trainings, events relating to particular subjects, meetings with employers, workshops, observation of labour market dynamics and trends, projects and activities, aiming at promoting formation of proper personal and professional directions.

The Centre informs students and graduates about internship programs and part-time and full-time jobs available in labour market and provides recommendations for planning a successful career on a regular basis.

The Centre arranges large-scale and complex job fairs. The participant leading companies include from the following fields: banking, medical, financial, manufacturing, retail and wholesale, tourism and hospitality. An employment rate of students and graduates within the framework of the job fairs is quite high.

Career Development Centre has an active and efficient partnership with employers and receives recommendations. Afterwards, it identifies relevant skills and competences necessary for students and graduates' transfer in labour market.

The successful program “Smart Students” has been carried out by the Centre, including the following courses: Career Planning, Management of Career Opportunities, Preparing application Documents and Getting Ready for an Interview, Techniques for Job Searching. Caucasus International University collects employment statistics of students and grade, according to the data, the employment rate is rising at high speed, thus proving the efficiency of Career Development Centre.

•GCE/O Level or equivalent with 5 Grade C in English, Maths, 1 science subject (Biology /Physics/Chemistry/General Science/ Applied Science) & any other 2 subjects; OR

•Certificate Level 3 (MQF) related to Health Science subject & any other



International Students Admission Procedure & Requirements

·         Application Form.

·         Passport size photograph size: 3.5cm x 5cm with “WHITE” background.

·         Clear copy of passport (passport minimum 18 months validity), all pages including blank pages. Preferably, information page in colour.

·         “CERTIFIED” academic certificates & results including secondary and / or higher secondary school transcripts.

·         Pre-Medical Health Examination Report.

·         Letter of eligibility (LOE) letter for Sudan & Iran.

·         Sponsor letter if any.

·         VISA Processing Fee RM2,500 for all programmes

Please include the Visa Processing Fees with all registration documents. Remittances by electronic transfers should be evidenced by a clear copy of the bank confirmation advice and referenced with the student’s particulars: name, passport no., course and intake month and year. Upon receiving all the required documents, offer letters will be sent to successful applicants (please allow 1-2 weeks) and college will apply for a student visa on behalf of the applicant. We advise that all application forms arrive eight (8) weeks before the intake date. Then, a copy of the approval letter from the Malaysia Immigration

Department will be sent to the applicant. The applicant will have to settle their fee as instructed in the offer letter, before departing from their home country, Please refer to the payment instruction section for the payment method and information.
